Ohio Disaster Relief

Tornadoes in Ohio

Over the night of March 14-15 Ohio was hit by several strong tonadoes. Most created minor damage to farm land or remote areas. The strongest hit Indian Lake in Logan County and astrip in Delaware, Ohio. Ohio Disaster Relief Director John Heading was in contact with the Logan County Emergency Manger late into the evening. A trained assessor has been sent to the area to meet with the emergency manager to see how we can assist.

Ohio Disaster Relief is shipping hay to Texas!

Ohio Disaster Relief exists to bring Help, Hope and Healing to people affected by disaster. One of the current deployments is to ship hay to the farmers in the Panhandle of Texas. A recent fire destroyed thousands of acres of land and farmers are in dire need of hay, fencing, salt blocks and other supplies.

Ohio Disaster Relief has agreed to ship 51 large, round bales of hay that weigh nearly 1000 pounds each. The hay has been donated by farmers in Eastern Ohio who also want to assist fellow farmers in need.

ODR is raising $5000 to cover the costs of transportation. The first load of 17 bales is currently in route by 2 DR volunteers. The second load will be 34 bales and shipped by commercial carrier. The funds raised will be used for these transportation costs and any other expenses for deployment.
