There were three Spring Ladies Retreats this year in April. All were well attended and you can see from the notes below that they had a wonderful time of worship, renewal, fellowship and just a lot of fun at all of them. If you were not able to attend one of these Spring retreats no worries, you can plan to join us from all over the State for our Fall Retreat at Seneca Lake Baptist Assembly, September 7th & 8th. I want to say thank you to all the churches and the ladies teams that put these together. I know the amount of planning that goes into creating these events for our women in Mission Ohio. I also know the months of preparation and the prayer that goes into them, so thank you to all that had a part in making these retreats such a good experience accross our state for our women.
On Friday and Saturday, April 13-14th, the ladies of the Northcoast Baptist Association gathered at Sawmill Creek for our 4th annual ladies spring retreat. Our theme this year was ‘Let’s Flamingle’. Our theme verse, I Thessalonians 5:11, was chosen to remind us to faithfully encourage each other. We were blessed to hear three different challenges from Heather Lytle. She spoke to us about our heavenly home as the ultimate encouragement, unity in the body of Christ, and ended the weekend by reminding us not to compare. Each of our three sessions were enhanced by the worship and praise music led by Jody Jones.
Our retreat was enjoyed by 7 churches in our association and 65 ladies. The time was filled with laughter, a flamingo craft, good food, and great friends. As always, we left the retreat refreshed and encouraged in the Word. We look forward to our next adventure as the ladies of the Northcoast Baptist Association.
We had a very successful 2018 retreat at Trinity Baptist Church in Cambridge called "Shreds". There were 85 ladies, representing 10 churches from the Muskgingum Valley Baptist Association plus a few from the Columbus area. An offering was taken for the Joan White Scholarship Fund and for one of our favorite missionaries, L.P.
Julie Marshall brought a wonderful message of how God gathers together the shreds of our lives and transforms our hurts and disappointments to make something new and beautiful out of them based on Luke 4:16-21. The ladies tore an old t-shirt to shreds and made a beautiful necklace out of it. When we turn our hurts of brokenness (shreds) over to God, He transforms it into something useful and beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship, worship, craft and encouragement and just being together as sisters in Christ.
On April 14, 2018, we had the Southwest Regional Women’s Retreat which was held at First Baptist Church of Waynesville. A good time was had by all. The First Baptist Church of Waynesville was a gracious host for the event which had 200 ladies registered. There were breakouts as well as a keynote speaker. Breakfast and lunch were provided. The amount of $719.25 was collected for the Joan White Scholarship supporting first time mission trips for ladies. If you are interested in more information about the Joan White Scholarship, please contact the CABA office at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, save the date of April 6, 2019 for next year’s Retreat. The theme is “Stepping Up”.
